1st Regiment The Alamo Guards - TXSG

The 1st Regiment (The Alamo Guards) is one of six multi-functional regiments that comprise the Army Component Command. Organized in 1836 during the Texas War of Independence, the Regiment fought in seven campaigns culminating in the Battle of San Jacinto. The Regiment is headquartered in San Antonio, with units spread throughout south Texas, including Laredo, Weslaco, and Corpus Christi.

The Regiment’s mission sets include defense support to civil authority, disaster reconnaissance, search and rescue, and community support. The primary mission of the the 1st Regiment - and the TXSG - is to provide military forces in times of crisis to support civil authority, predominantly in the form of disaster response.
